Sailing school Aalsmeer

Sailing school Aalsmeer is the place to be for your daily dose of fun watersport activities near Amsterdam. We provide sailing and windsurfing lessons and various clinics for all ages and levels of experience. You can rent a sailboat, windsurf board, canoe, SUP, small motorboat or sloop to explore the beautiful Westeinderplassen by yourself. On top of that we have ample possibilities for catered parties, private or business events, school camps and more. You are very welcome on our sunny waterside terrace or in our pleasant greenhouse bar at any time during our opening hours for a drink or sundowner.

Sail and windsurf lessons

Centreboard boats, keelboats, catamarans, windsurfing boards, wing foiling sets, SUPs. Sailing school Aalsmeer has it all! We provide lessons and clinics in all of these disciplines, ranging from private lessons for a couple of hours to full 5-day courses and everything in between. Our instructors have experience with teaching kids, teens and adults. Lessons can be taught in English.

Rent a boat or board

Would you like to explore the beautiful Westeinderplassen by yourself or with friends/family? At Sailing school Aalsmeer you can rent sailboats, surfboards, wingfoil sets, SUPs, canoes, small motorboats and a 6-person sloop.

Events

Would you like to organise a party, group activity or business meeting at a unique location? Our sunny waterside terrace and our original greenhouse transformed into a pleasant lounge area are the place to be! We can cater for (children’s) birthday parties, wedding receptions, business events, teambuilding activities and more. Catering options include lunch, barbecue, sundowners. Any event can be combined with fun watersport activities guided by our instructors.

About sailing school Aalsmeer

Sailing school Aalsmeer was founded in 1968 by Peter de Wit, sail instructor and coach, with just two sailing boats. Over the years the fleet has grown to a total of 160 boats, including 25 different boat and board types. Our goal is to provide a low-key and fun way for you to enjoy a day on the water. We love showing you the ropes. Our instructors are professionally trained and coached through the CWO-method.

Location

Sailing school Aalsmeer is situated at the beautiful and diverse Westeinderplassen.

  • Close enough to Amsterdam to be easily accessible (only little over a 30 min drive) but far enough to experience a slower pace than the hustle of the city.
  • Largest freshwater body in the Randstad with a total area of more than 10 km2.
  • Collection of one bigger lake and several smaller pools, connected by many narrow watercourses.
  • The lake area originates from the extraction of peat, which was the main source of fuel in The Netherlands until it was replaced by coal in the 19th century.
